Might be the funniest thing I’ve read on Substack

My conclusions;

1) act like a man SMACK

2) Get a job in manufacturing, the anemic labor base is the biggest obstacle to our reshoring industries and YES that’s “official” -

Yes, that’s right. I would’ve never written such a piece because I shrugged in 2016 and moved on to the other work — and lots of it, including a soulless corporate day job and my various hobbies/family/etc. For me the operative question has always been (and should be for others, as you say) “what’s left?” rather than “what’s next?”

What’s left is get hands dirty jobs - pays multiples of extractive gleaning by scalping - the fool found his level is all.

Those jobs will soon be overproduced as well due to people scraping to get what they can. I harbor no illusion in my own work that I’m doing anything but merely seizing crumbs until my death comes (hopefully sooner rather than later, as I’ve seen enough of all this, but with a sufficient stake to support my daughter in years to come — but as my father would say, 5 million or 500, it won’t make a damn bit of difference, because whatever awaits you is worse than you think and not nearly as bad as it’s going to get). But all we can do is swallow the black pills with a stiff upper lip until we have drowned

Oh thanks, meanwhile we’ll rebuild the factories and nation, but enjoy the sulk. Keep miserable and Doomer on.

Bleaker than what I usually do with the black pills but point well taken

All we mortal men doomed to die can do is the work

We certainly can’t “grief” about it, because that’s wimp stuff

I meant more that I’m old enough to accept death as inevitable but still young enough to look forward to the rest of my life, and eager to do more with it. When I die, I die, but I’d like to live before that happens.
